Our Favorite Finds from the Summer Fancy Food Show in NYC
If there is one event that perfectly captures the spirit of Eighty Flavors, it’s the Summer Fancy Food Show at New York City’s Javits Center.
Organized by the Specialty Food Association, the show brings together thousands of producers, entrepreneurs, artisans, and buyers from around the globe for three delicious days dedicated to the future of food.
Walking through the exhibition halls felt like stepping onto an international flight every few minutes. One aisle transported me to Morocco, the next to Italy, then the Caribbean, Japan, Canada, South Korea, and countless other culinary destinations—all without ever leaving Manhattan.
It was, quite literally, around the world in 80 flavors.

What struck me most wasn’t simply the incredible quality of the products, but how beautifully tradition and innovation continue to coexist in today’s food industry.
Age-old family recipes are finding new audiences through modern branding. Ancient ingredients are being reimagined as convenient snacks. Consumers are demanding authenticity, and brands are responding with genuine stories rather than marketing gimmicks.
If there was one unmistakable trend throughout the show, it was the continued celebration of ethnic flavors, cultural heritage, and authentic storytelling. Plant-based innovation also continues to evolve rapidly—not as a compromise, but as a category producing genuinely crave-worthy products.

I’ve honestly been thinking about this show ever since I got home. Narrowing hundreds of incredible products down to just ten favorites feels almost impossible, but these are the brands that truly stood out.

Moresh Premium Moroccan Olive Oil
Morocco may not be the first country people associate with world-class olive oil, but perhaps it should be. Moresh introduced visitors to exceptionally smooth extra virgin olive oils produced from Moroccan groves that have been cultivating olives for generations.

Their oils balanced delicate fruitiness with a subtle peppery finish that made them equally suitable for finishing dishes or enjoying simply with fresh bread.
Beyond the quality itself, what impressed me most was the brand’s commitment to showcasing Morocco’s rich agricultural heritage.
Rather than trying to imitate Mediterranean competitors, Moresh proudly tells the story of its own terroir and traditions. It’s exactly the kind of authentic storytelling today’s consumers are increasingly looking for.

Edamame Beanpops
The snack aisle continues to be one of the most exciting sections of the Fancy Food Show, and Edamame Beanpops immediately caught my attention.
These crunchy popped edamame snacks deliver impressive protein while remaining surprisingly light and addictive. Instead of relying on artificial ingredients or excessive seasoning, Beanpops let the naturally nutty flavor of edamame shine through with clean, simple ingredients.
It’s a perfect example of where healthy snacking is headed: recognizable ingredients, satisfying crunch, and nutrition that doesn’t sacrifice taste.

Les Collines Preserves
Among all the innovation, sometimes the simplest products leave the biggest impression.
Les Collines reminded me why beautifully crafted preserves never go out of style. Their jams taste remarkably close to homemade, allowing the fruit—not excessive sugar—to remain the star of the show. Each variety reflected careful craftsmanship and respect for traditional preserving methods.
These are the kinds of products that instantly make you imagine a leisurely breakfast with fresh croissants, good coffee, and absolutely nowhere to be.

Date Better Vegan Date Snacks
Dates continue having a major moment, and Date Better proves exactly why.
Their chocolate-covered date snacks somehow manage to satisfy dessert cravings while relying on naturally sweet fruit as the foundation. The texture is wonderfully indulgent, almost caramel-like, making it hard to believe they’re built around such a simple ingredient.
As plant-based confectionery continues expanding, products like these demonstrate that “better-for-you” treats no longer need to feel like a compromise.

Cha’s Organics Coconut Rolls
Sometimes all it takes is one bite.
Cha’s Organics introduced wonderfully crisp coconut rolls that somehow balance sweetness, texture, and simplicity perfectly. Made with organic ingredients and inspired by Southeast Asian flavors, they deliver an incredibly satisfying crunch while remaining surprisingly light.
They’re equally at home alongside afternoon coffee, packed into a hiking backpack, or quietly disappearing from your pantry far faster than you planned.

WIPS West Indies Peppa Sauce
Few booths generated as much excitement as WIPS.
Their West Indies Peppa Sauce is vibrant, complex, and packed with genuine Caribbean character. Rather than delivering heat for heat’s sake, the sauce layers peppers with fruit, spices, and acidity to create something deeply flavorful and remarkably versatile.
It’s exactly the kind of condiment that transforms an ordinary meal into something memorable, and a wonderful reminder that some of the world’s boldest flavors come from island kitchens.

Sunday Supper Fritto Fried Veggie Snacks
Vegetables have never been more fun.
Sunday Supper’s Fritto line transforms vegetables into irresistibly crunchy snacks without losing their personality. The textures are fantastic, the flavors remain clean, and every bite somehow manages to feel both indulgent and wholesome.
It’s another example of how plant-forward foods are becoming genuinely exciting rather than simply healthier alternatives.

Growee Dips & Crackers
Convenience and nutrition don’t always coexist gracefully, but Growee makes it look easy.
Their thoughtfully paired dips and crackers offer balanced snacking that’s flavorful, satisfying, and refreshingly approachable. Rather than relying on novelty, the products focus on quality ingredients and combinations that simply work.
For busy consumers seeking healthier grab-and-go options, Growee feels perfectly positioned within one of the fastest-growing categories in specialty food.

A’smore Drinking Chocolate
Some products instantly trigger nostalgia while still feeling completely new.
A’smore Drinking Chocolate captures the comforting spirit of campfire s’mores in a rich, luxurious beverage. Deep chocolate flavor is complemented by subtle marshmallow and graham cracker notes without becoming overly sweet.
It feels less like hot cocoa and more like a dessert experience in a mug—exactly the kind of comforting indulgence people crave during colder months.

Urbani Italian Truffles
No Fancy Food Show feels complete without a stop at Urbani.
The legendary Italian truffle specialists continue setting the benchmark for luxury ingredients, showcasing everything from fresh truffles to oils, sauces, and specialty products that celebrate one of Italy’s greatest culinary treasures.
Watching chefs shave fresh truffles over warm pasta never gets old. Urbani represents the beautiful intersection of heritage, craftsmanship, and culinary excellence—a reminder that some traditions don’t need reinvention because they were already perfect.

Summer Fancy Food Show – Final Thoughts
Every year the Summer Fancy Food Show leaves me inspired, hungry, and filled with optimism about where food is headed.
Consumers increasingly want to know where their food comes from, who made it, and why it matters. The brands that stood out weren’t necessarily the loudest or trendiest—they were the ones telling genuine stories through exceptional products.
Whether rooted in centuries-old traditions or introducing entirely new ways to snack, they all shared one thing in common: authenticity.

Congratulations once again to the Specialty Food Association for another outstanding event that continues to bring together the very best of the global specialty food industry under one roof.
As for me? I’m already mentally preparing—and perhaps starting a very strategic diet—to make room for all the incredible samples waiting at the Winter Fancy Faire coming up in San Francisco.
If this summer’s show was any indication, the next culinary adventure is going to be just as unforgettable.
