As the only Native American–owned hotel in Santa Fe, New Mexico, it offers something far deeper than a beautiful place to sleep: a sense of connection, history, and quiet healing.

To understand the magic of this place, you have to understand Santa Fe itself.
Long before it became an artistic and cultural hub, this region was home to Pueblo peoples whose traditions stretch back thousands of years.
Their influence is everywhere—from the earth-toned adobe architecture to the spiritual reverence for land, community, and craftsmanship.

From the very moment you arrive, that connection is unmistakable.
You’re welcomed at the check-in desk by a striking mural depicting Pueblo history, alongside a statue of Chief White Elk and even a framed traditional hunting arrow, each element quietly grounding you in the story of the land.

The hotel itself feels like a sanctuary. Built in traditional Pueblo-style adobe architecture, it blends seamlessly into the landscape.
Rounded edges, natural materials, and warm desert hues that seem to glow at sunrise and sunset.
Inside, the atmosphere is quietly enchanting. Gentle Native American flute music drifts through the air, never intrusive, always grounding.

And then there’s the kiva fireplace—softly crackling, impossibly cozy, and the kind of place you find yourself returning to again and again, whether with a book or simply your thoughts.

The room: a sanctuary within a sanctuary
My room at Hotel Santa Fe was one of those rare spaces that immediately makes you exhale.
The decor felt deeply considered—earthy tones, native-inspired artwork, and handcrafted furniture that gave the room both character and soul.
Nothing felt mass-produced; everything felt intentional.
The bed was pure luxury, with impossibly soft sheets and pillows that felt genuinely heavenly after a day exploring the high desert.
In the bathroom, a soaking tub invited long, quiet unwinds, complemented by plush, cozy bathrobes that made it very tempting to linger just a little longer.
The lavender-scented toiletries were a subtle but beautiful touch—calming, fresh, and perfectly in tune with the overall atmosphere.
What I especially appreciated were the hotel’s thoughtful sustainability efforts.
Water refill stations on each floor made it easy to stay hydrated without waste, and a gentle invitation to be mindful of water usage served as a quiet reminder of the fragile high desert ecosystem.
It never felt preachy—just respectful, and aligned with the deeper values the hotel embodies.

Wellness, the Pueblo Way
What truly sets this hotel apart is the way care is woven into every aspect of the experience.
Mornings begin gently, with complimentary coffee service and, on weekends, sunrise yoga that feels less like a workout and more like a grounding ritual.
The rooftop gym is bright and airy, offering views and light that make you actually want to move.
The spa hot tub is perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring, but the real highlight is the Hacienda Spa & Salon.
The treatments are as poetic as they are restorative—rituals like Healing Earth, Wind & Mountain, Sacred Indulgence, and Land of Enchantment feel deeply tied to place.
Even the facials, like the signature White Sage, carry a sense of intention and tradition that goes beyond typical spa experiences.

Hospitality that feels personal
The staff at Hotel Santa Fe are exceptional—not in a formal or scripted way, but in a genuinely warm, intuitive manner that makes you feel instantly at ease.
One of my favorite touches was the complimentary shuttle into the main plaza. It’s practical, yes—but also an opportunity for connection.
A special shoutout to Pete, one of the drivers, whose local food recommendations turned into some of the best meals of my trip. It’s those small, human moments that make a stay memorable.

More than a stay—an experience
What surprised me most about Hotel Santa Fe is how it made me feel.
As a solo female traveler visiting Santa Fe for the first time, I arrived hoping for a beautiful place to stay.
What I found instead was something far more meaningful and inspiring. I felt serene, cared for, and completely at peace.
There’s an undeniable energy here—rooted in Native tradition, respect for the land, and a slower, more intentional way of being.
